ABOUT US

Roger Flahive married Katherine Nelson in Sterling, Colorado in 1982. Beginning their life together as college students, they value hard work and education. Roger has two degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Katherine received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

Roger and Katherine have three children: Megan (1985), Shannon (1987) and Derrik (1991). The Flahive Family Foundation was founded in October of 2005 out of the family’s collective gratitude and desire to give back. They recognized that as Americans, they had benefited from excellent schools, great health care and a vibrant economic system. This understanding formed their desire and moreover, a sense of responsibility, to give back to the areas they believe have the most impact on people around the world. The Flahive Family Foundation restricts all grant-making to 501(c)(3) organizations. The Foundation does not give grants to individuals.
